Summer Program Associate
Job Summary
The Summer Program Associate will facilitate 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) summer enrichment program implemented by Washington Alliance for Better Schools (WABS) in partnership with the Marysville School District.
The 21st CCLC program helps students meet state and local standards in academic subjects, such as reading and math. During the summer, we host a 4 week enrichment program that also includes arts projects, field trips, and more student choice.
Job Description
Under the supervision of the Site Coordinator, the Summer Program Associate performs a wide variety of student support tasks. From helping to provide a welcoming and inclusive learning environment, tailoring academic and enrichment activities for student success, helping to develop agency and self- esteem, and coordinating teaching and learning
Compensation & Schedule
- Hourly Rate of $25.00.
- Part-time, 25-27 hours per week.
- Program runs July 8-July 31.
- The program hours are 8:00am-1:30pm, Monday-Thursday. Additional paid planning, training and cleaning time is provided and required. This will be the weeks before July 8th and after July 31st.
Job Duties:
- Facilitate innovative, hands-on, small group instruction in reading, math, and STEM for student attendees.
- Organize and deliver enrichment and recreational activities for student attendees.
- Attend professional development training as required by WABS and/or grant.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Qualifications:
Education
- Associates degree (preferred) or equivalent experience.
Experience
- 1+ years of experience working with groups of students grade K-5, preferably in leading academic lessons and activities.
- Experience working with diverse students and families from different racial and cultural backgrounds.
- Experienced in Google-Suite: Drive, Docs at an intermediate level.
Knowledge, Skill, Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to be flexible, creative, and enthusiastic in a student-centered environment
- Ability to speak multiple languages (preferred).
Physical Demands
The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid conditions. It also requires sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, etc. May require lifting of up to 25 lbs. at a time.
