Glaukos – MSL / Field Medical Advisor

As a field-based medical and scientific expert, the MSL will engage with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) across the Southeast region—building meaningful relationships, driving high-quality scientific discussions, and serving as a trusted resource in eye disease education, emerging therapies, data science, and product knowledge.

What You’ll Do
- Build and expand strategic, compliant scientific relationships with optometrists, ophthalmologists, and other KOLs across the region.
- Serve as a field-based expert, delivering relevant medical and scientific insights to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Respond to medical inquiries with clear, evidence-based information supporting the appropriate use of Glaukos products, including compliant responses to unsolicited off-label questions.
- Gather and communicate actionable clinical insights that inform strategy and enhance patient outcomes.
- Create strong professional networks with high-impact decision-makers and thought leaders in eye care.
- Represent Medical Affairs at local, regional, and national conferences—participating in scientific sessions and engaging HCPs at medical booths.
- Support clinical evidence generation through collaboration on investigator-initiated research proposals.
- Maintain deep expertise in relevant disease states, emerging therapeutic options, and the evolving competitive landscape.
- Deliver scientific and practice education to eye-care centers while collaborating cross-functionally with clinical operations, market access, sales, and marketing.
- Work closely with optometric and ophthalmic medical societies across the region.
- Optimize field medical processes, insight gathering, and training initiatives.
- Manage territory planning, budgets, KOL mapping, and CRM documentation with accuracy and timeliness.
- Travel up to 70% (field visits, conferences, and headquarters meetings).
What You’ll Bring
- Doctorate degree (OD, PharmD, PhD, MD, DO).
- 8+ years of combined relevant industry/clinical experience.
- 1-1.5+ years of prior MSL/medical affairs experience in eye care preferred.
- Exceptional emotional intelligence, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong scientific acumen paired with the ability to translate complex data into clear, meaningful insights.
- High level of organization and proactive planning in a fast-moving environment.
- Ability to operate with professionalism and compliance even in evolving or less-defined processes.
- Strong collaboration, influence, and independent decision-making abilities.
- Analytical, adaptable, and comfortable navigating changing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
- Residency within commuting distance to a major airport in the Southeast region.
