This role involves hands-on work installing modern building technologies including smart thermostats and energy monitoring systems.
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to assist with the installation of smart thermostats, IoT gateways, and energy monitoring current clamps on HVAC and electrical systems. This role is primarily hands-on and installation-focused.
The technician will work with existing HVAC equipment and electrical panels to install monitoring hardware that enables remote visibility into building energy usage and HVAC performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and configure smart thermostats on existing HVAC systems
- Install energy monitoring current clamps (CT clamps) within electrical panels to measure HVAC energy consumption
- Mount and install IoT gateways used to communicate with installed devices
- Safely access HVAC equipment, thermostats, and electrical panels
- Ensure all devices are securely mounted, powered, and operational
- Follow installation instructions, wiring diagrams, and safety procedures
- Communicate installation progress and completion with project managers
Requirements
- HVAC technician experience working with commercial or light industrial HVAC systems
- Comfortable installing or replacing thermostats and low-voltage wiring
- Familiarity with electrical panels and current transformer (CT) clamps
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely
- Ability to follow installation instructions and wiring diagrams
- Strong attention to safety when working with HVAC and electrical systems
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Professional communication and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience installing smart thermostats or building automation devices
- Familiarity with IoT devices or smart building technologies
- Basic understanding of networked or wireless devices
- Experience working in commercial facilities or mechanical rooms
- OSHA or other safety certifications (a plus)
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
