We are looking for a Medical Records Specialist join our Personal Injury Department at Longhorn Imaging in South Austin! The ideal candidate will have a heart for serving others with a strong inclination for outstanding customer service.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Medical Records Specialist will work directly with our Personal Injury Team to assist law firms with exam approvals and medical/billing/radiology requests.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and maintain relationships with attorneys, case managers, and third party representatives
- Collect feedback about Longhorn Imaging’s services from law firm contacts and report back to operations in a timely fashion
- Request approval from law firms for all patient exams.
- Assist in the uploading of patient documentation to billing portal.
- Properly pull all necessary documentation for each medical and billing record requests.
- Accurately complete patient record questionnaires submitted by law firms and third-party record request companies.
- Process incoming emails in a timely fashion.
- Assist in answering incoming calls and ask appropriate questions to properly assess caller’s needs.
- Send all appropriate requests via certified mail and save all necessary documentation for our records.

- Familiarity with Medical Imaging / Radiology and related services and systems.
- Familiarity with the personal injury legal field.
- Have an aptitude for serving others in a calm and professional manner, even on the busiest of days.
- Complete confidence and ability to effectively work in Microsoft office products while comfortable learning new software platforms.
- Exceptional communications skills including a demonstrated ability to communicate across organizational boundaries to include operations staff, law firms, executive staff, patients, and support vendors.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with team members and stakeholders across all areas
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patients, law firms, physician, and business information.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames and possess an ability to adapt to priority changes.
Schedule Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
