The Center for Global Health, within the Department of Internal Medicine is seeking a HS Research Tech 1. The HS Research Technician 1 supports field and laboratory activities for the New Mexico Department of Health Mosquito Surveillance Project. Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, this position assists with the preparation, deployment, and maintenance of mosquito surveillance equipment; conducts field surveillance and specimen collection at regional partner sites; receives and processes mosquito specimens; performs mosquito species identification and laboratory sample preparation; assists with molecular screening for mosquito-borne pathogens; maintains project records and inventory; and collaborates with faculty, laboratory personnel, and public health partners to support statewide mosquito surveillance and grant deliverables.
