Responsibilities
- Lead participants through high ropes courses, climbing walls, and other adventure activities with clear instructions and safety guidance
- Conduct safety briefings, equipment checks, and harness fittings to ensure participant safety at all times
- Monitor participant progress, provide encouragement, and manage behavior to maintain a positive environment
- Assist with setting up and maintaining climbing gear, safety systems, and course infrastructure
- Educate participants on proper climbing techniques, safety procedures, and environmental awareness
- Respond promptly to any safety concerns or incidents, coordinating with emergency services if necessary
- Participate in staff trainings, including certifications as needed
- Track and document camper progress, growth, and participation
Skills
- Experience leading high ropes, climbing, or adventure-based programs
- Strong teaching skills with the ability to communicate instructions clearly and motivate participants of all ages
- Childcare experience or working with students helps in managing behavior and creating engaging learning environments
- Knowledge of climbing techniques, outdoor adventure safety protocols, and behavior management strategies is highly desirable
