The Capuchin Franciscan Province of St. Joseph is a religious community of friars inspired by St. Francis of Assisi. They live and work with those who struggle with challenging circumstances. and serve God through the work they do in the communities they serve. The Capuchin Franciscan friars of the Province of St. Joseph, along with their partners in ministry, have created a sacred space dedicated to the memory and spirituality of their brother, Blessed Solanus Casey. In the center, visitors can learn about Blessed Solanus and his cause for sainthood. The Solanus Casey Center (SCC) includes the SCC Gift Shop, SCC Museum, and the On the Rise Café (a ministry of the Capuchin Soup Kitchen). It is also home to the Father Solanus Guild.
Position Overview
The Business Operations Coordinator, under the direction of and in collaboration with the Ministry Director, will work to support the mission of the Province and the Solanus Center by managing essential daily business-related functions of the center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Demonstrate, exemplify and support the Capuchin Charism and Provincial Mission, Vision and Values throughout all professional responsibilities and activities.
· In collaboration with the Ministry Director (MD)
o Develop and manage strategic initiatives to support the SCC business plan.
o Develop annual budget.
o Participate in planning, preparation and implementation of special projects and programs at the center including fund raising and feast day events other special events.
o Assist with operational and financial needs of the center.
o Coordinate mailings, fundraising and special events for SCC.
o Participate in development of promotional and marketing plans.
· Responsible for ensuring efficient services from the contracted services and vendors of the SCC including, but not limited to, janitorial, landscaping, security, and necessary supplies.
· Approve all purchase orders in compliance with SCC guidelines.
· Ensure all sales transactions are completed accurately and create report at end of each month for gift shop, online sales etc.
· Submit all required reports to the appropriate or designated parties (e.g., Finance Dept., SCC Director, state agency) in a timely manner. These include but are not limited to financial reports, sales reports, and sales tax reports.
· Be available on an “on-call” basis for emergencies and to fill in for staff at Gift Shop and Reception Desk when necessary.
· Participate in or be available to help for all SCC events and programs.
· Comply with Province and ministry policies, procedures, guidelines and standards.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field and 4 years’ experience working in administrative capacity, OR a comparable combination of education and experience.
· Experience with event planning preferred.
· Experience in retail environment preferred.
· Certified in Protecting Gods Children or ability to attain within 30 days of hire.
· Experience in Raiser’s Edge or similar program.
· Ability to be welcoming and professional and maintain confidentiality.
· Effective Microsoft Office, oral and written communication, problem solving, interpersonal and organizational skills.
· Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays when necessary.
· Ability to travel locally and work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
· Able to create and interpret budgets and financial reports.
· Knowledge of Roman Catholic tradition, Franciscan Spirituality and Fr. Solanus Casey or willingness to learn.
· Ability to commit to personal and professional development through active participation in relevant workshops, courses, programs, and other learning. opportunities offered by the Province or other entities.
· Knowledge of or ability to learn NCR Counterpoint software.
· Understanding of inventory management philosophy.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
