Job Summary
Animal Care personnel will perform a variety of tasks necessary for the health and welfare of canine and feline donors. All caregiving will be provided in the following order of priority: (1) food, (2) shelter, (3) cleanliness, (4) safety and observation, (5) psychological enrichment.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY
Maintenance
- Performs daily caregiving tasks
- Completes necessary paperwork
- Reports any symptoms of donor illness
- Cleans and maintains all animal areas within the company
- Notifies manager promptly if repair or replacement of any equipment is necessary
- Performs any other duties as directed by veterinary staff.
Enrichment
- Grooms cats and spends time socializing with them
- Rotates toys and varies arrangement of furnishings
- Brushes and bathes dogs as requested
- Practices basic training techniques when caring for dogs
- Performs any other enrichment duties as directed by veterinary staff.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Sincere regard and respect for animals
- Eighteen years of age or older
- Ability to function as a productive team member
- Above average communication skills and ability to relate to others
- Ability to properly lift and/or carry 50 lbs, without injury
- Ability to flex hours as necessary to fulfill job requirements
- Must be willing to work weekends
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
