Massage Therapist
Reports to: Massage Lead
Employment Type: Commission Based Exempt Employee
Compensation: starting at 35% per session/$15.00 per hour for team meetings and mandatory training
Job Summary The Massage Therapist at The Well House is responsible for providing exceptional, customized therapeutic massage and bodywork treatments to clients, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and contributing to the overall clinical excellence of the massage department. The therapist will maintain professionalism, adhere to all service standards and protocols, and uphold the therapeutic culture of The Well House.
Key Responsibilities
Client Experience & Service Delivery
- Provide professional, high-quality bodywork and massage treatments tailored to the individual needs and concerns of each client.
- Conduct thorough client consultations, reviewing health history, assessing needs, and recommending an appropriate course of treatment.
- Educate clients on post-treatment care, stretching, and maintenance.
- Be proficient in various massage modalities (e.g., Swedish, Deep Tissue, Prenatal, Aromatherapy).
- Ensure clear understanding and adherence to client confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.
Operations & Clinical Standards
- Adhere to established service protocols and maintain up-to-date treatment documentation for all clients.
- Maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and professional appearance of the massage room before, during, and after each shift.
- Assist in maintaining organized linen and supply stations.
- Communicate equipment maintenance needs or supply shortages to the Massage Lead.
- Participate in scheduled team meetings and required training sessions.
Professional Development
- Maintain current and valid Maryland Massage Therapy License (or ability to quickly obtain).
- Proactively seek and maintain up-to-date continuing education requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the Massage Lead and other team members to foster a cohesive and professional work environment.
Qualifications
- Valid Maryland Massage Therapy License (or ability to quickly obtain).
- Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on massage therapy experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Proficiency in a wide range of massage modalities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and highly professional in conduct and appearance.
- Evening and weekend availability required.
Pay: $45.00 - $62.00 per hour
