Position Summary: Provide family-centered educational home visits, developmental monitoring, and supportive services to families with newborns and young children to promote healthy child development, school readiness, and positive parent-child relationships. Support families through developmental screenings, early literacy education, community resource linkage, and strengths-based coaching consistent with evidence-based early childhood and nonprofit best practices.
Responsibilities
- Promote positive parent-child relationships, early literacy, school readiness, and optimal developmental outcomes for children from birth to age three.
- Conduct home visits with families of newborns, typically within the first two months after birth, in accordance with program guidelines and timelines.
- Educate families on infant and early childhood brain development, developmental milestones, and age-appropriate parenting practices.
- Provide developmental guidance, family support, and parent-child interaction education using a strengths-based and culturally responsive approach.
- Administer, review, and support families in completing the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) and other approved developmental screening and monitoring tools.
- Promote ongoing participation in developmental monitoring and early intervention services when appropriate.
- Connect families with community resources, parenting education opportunities, and supportive services to enhance family well-being.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation, data entry, and recordkeeping in compliance with agency, contractual, HIPAA/confidentiality, and program requirements.
- Practice appropriate health, safety, infection control, and mandated reporting procedures in accordance with agency policy and applicable regulations.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, professional development activities, supervision, and community outreach events as required.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, community partners, healthcare providers, and referral sources.
- Support the mission, vision, values, and strategic goals of the department and agency.
- Adhere to all agency policies, procedures, ethical standards, and safety practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations and community needs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely operate and travel in an automobile for home and community visits.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, sit on the floor, and actively participate in child and family activities.
- Ability to lift and carry program materials and equipment up to 25 pounds as needed.
- Ability to use a computer, tablet, telephone, and other standard office equipment.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Education, Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Family Studies, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience working with young children and families in home visiting, early childhood, family support, social services, healthcare, or related settings preferred.
- Relevant combination of education, training, and experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
- Knowledge of child development, family systems, developmental milestones, and community resources preferred.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
- Reliable transportation with current automobile insurance coverage required.
