Our established, fast-paced private optometry practice is hiring a Full-Time Optician for our Swartz Creek office.
Position Overview:
This role is ideal for a professional with 5+ years of solid work experience, such as in retail, hospitality, or office administration, who is looking for a meaningful career change. While prior optical experience is a plus, it is not required. We provide comprehensive, hands-on technical training. - Pay: $17 - $18/hour for entry-level. Pay is negotiable for experienced Opticians.
- Hours: Daytime clinic hours (no weekends, out by 6 on Thursday, out by 2 on Friday!)
- Experience: While we would prefer an experienced Optician, we would provide full, hands-on technical training for the right professional.

What You’ll Do:
- Guide patients professionally through frame and lens selections based on their lifestyle and prescriptions.
- Learn technical optical skills, including precise physical measurements and lens adjustments.
- Manage administrative tasks, including vision insurance verification, billing, and accurate order processing.
- Maintain a calm, efficient, and welcoming presence at the front desk and in the optical during busy clinic hours.
What We Are Looking For:
- Proven Work History: At least 5 years of continuous experience in a fast-paced retail, customer service, or professional office environment.
- Professional Composure: The ability to handle high-volume patient days, multitasking, and constructive feedback with maturity and a problem-solving mindset.
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy in entering billing information and managing custom medical orders.
- Reliability: A track record of strong attendance, punctuality, and dependable transportation.
