Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and responsible Shuttle Bus Operator (CDL) to provide safe, reliable, and friendly transportation services. In this role, you will operate school buses or motor coaches along designated routes, ensuring passenger safety and comfort while adhering to all transportation safety regulations. Duties
- Safely operate school buses or motor coaches on scheduled routes, including school shuttle transfers for students.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure mechanical soundness and compliance with safety standards.
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws, DOT regulations, and state transportation regulations while driving in various weather conditions.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route updates, student shuttle changes, or emergencies.
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, vehicle inspections, and any incidents that occur during shifts.
- Ensure passenger safety at all times by practicing defensive driving techniques and monitoring passenger behavior, with special attention to student riders.
- Navigate city streets efficiently using knowledge of local routes while providing excellent customer service with a friendly attitude.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure vehicle reliability.
- Support transportation safety regulations by following proper procedures during adverse weather conditions or traffic disruptions.
Experience
- Valid Class B CDL with appropriate endorsements for passenger transport, including air brake certification.
- Proven experience operating commercial vehicles such as bus driving, shuttle driving, or delivery driving in urban environments.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems related to motor coaches or school buses is preferred.
- Familiarity with bus driving safety protocols, vehicle inspections, and traffic laws is essential.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to handle driving responsibilities in adverse weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
