Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiotherapy practices, with a focus on patient-centered care across diverse settings. As a PTA, you will support licensed physical therapists in implementing treatment plans, assisting patients in their recovery process, and promoting optimal functional outcomes. This role offers an opportunity to work in dynamic environments including inpatient facilities, outpatient clinics, home health, and skilled nursing facilities.
- Prepares and assists clients to complete routine intake and personal forms.
- Gives and receives client information in person, by telephone, or mail to authorized persons.
- Makes self available to departmental staff.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
- Cleans and sets up clinical treatment areas for patients.
- Cleans mat areas and equipment with proper disinfectant after each use.
- Assists therapist with patient care as directed within the scope of on the job training provided.
- Review the patient’s evaluation with the referring therapist
- Deliver physical agents, therapeutic exercise, gait training, and other modalities of care in accordance with the policies of the department following the plan of care determined by the therapist
- Assume responsibility for delegated activities such as the production of lifts and other small equipment in the department
- Maintain and upgrade treatment skills
- Attend team conferences and staff meetings as directed
- Maintain cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
- Certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program is required.
- Demonstrated experience in inpatient, outpatient, or skilled nursing facility settings is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and discharge planning processes.
- Familiarity with care plans development and implementation within clinical environments.

Physical demands: Employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear. The employee is also required to perform the following: standing, walking, using hands to finger handle or feel, bending, stooping, lifting up to 50# frequently and 70# occasionally, climb or balance, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Vision requirement: Requires ability to perform close vision, peripheral vision.
