About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our chemical manufacturing facility in Forest View, IL, near Midway Airport. This is a direct hire opportunity offering an immediate start with a competitive wage and a full suite of benefits provided by our company.
Core Responsibilities

Execute preventive and predictive maintenance tasks to help ensure maximum equipment reliability and uptime for the production team.

Utilize 5S methodology to foster a clean, organized, and highly efficient work environment.

Prioritize workplace safety to help maintain a secure environment for all staff, even when working in demanding or steam-heated conditions.

Diagnose, repair, and service the various production machinery utilized in our chemical manufacturing processes.

Analyze and interpret technical blueprints and P&ID diagrams.

Perform electrical troubleshooting on systems ranging from 110VAC to 460VAC.

Install and service piping systems up to 3 inches, including various process instrumentation like transducers and thermocouples.

Contribute to the installation, planning, and commissioning of new electrical and piping infrastructure.

Document all maintenance activities and repairs within our CMMS platform.

Manage daily tasks according to both scheduled requirements and urgent maintenance needs.

Comply with all OSHA standards and internal safety protocols, such as LOTO, hot work permits, and fall protection.

Perform necessary maintenance tasks while working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support facility needs outside of standard hours.

Complete additional tasks as requested by management.
Location
Forest View, IL
Shift Information
2nd shift, Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Availability to complete 1st shift training for the first one to two months is required.

The role includes occasional Saturday work and participation in an after-hours on-call rotation.
Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

Technical certification, apprenticeship, or an associate degree in a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience is welcome.

At least 3 years of professional experience in an industrial maintenance setting.

Background in chemical processing equipment, such as pumps, mixers, and welding, is highly desirable.

Competency with computer software, including online training modules and CMMS tools.

Ability to operate industrial vehicles like forklifts and scissor lifts safely.

A valid driver’s license and a clean driving history are required for operating company vehicles.

Capacity to frequently lift or move 50 lbs and occasionally push or pull up to 100 lbs.

Must possess functional hearing, speech, and vision, including depth perception.

Ability to pass medical clearance and fit-testing requirements for respirator usage.

Willingness to enter confined spaces as part of job duties.
