Landscape Superintendent
Eastern Landscape Contractors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Landscape Superintendent to join our growing team and help lead complex public, civil, and large-scale landscape construction projects throughout New Jersey and the greater New York region.
This is a key field leadership role for someone who takes pride in running organized projects, leading crews, solving problems in the field, and delivering high-quality work safely, efficiently, and professionally. The right candidate will have the opportunity to take ownership of major projects, work directly with project teams and clients, and play an important role in the continued growth of Eastern.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage landscape construction and planting crews in the field
- Plan and coordinate daily work activities, manpower, equipment, and materials
- Read and interpret civil drawings, landscape plans, specifications, addenda, and contract requirements
- Develop daily schedules, short-term lookaheads, and manage critical project milestones
- Coordinate material ordering, deliveries, vendors, and project buy-outs
- Work closely with project management, ownership, subcontractors, inspectors, and general contractors
- Track installed quantities, field measurements, delivery tickets, and supporting project documentation
- Identify and manage change-order work and ensure proper documentation is maintained
- Monitor project costs, production, and job performance to help projects meet or exceed projected margins
- Assist with monthly payment requisitions, quantity verification, and project closeout
- Manage public and government projects through final completion while maintaining schedule, quality, and budget
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company safety standards and applicable state and federal requirements
- Maintain a professional presence in the field and build strong relationships with clients, project teams, and crews
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of superintendent or comparable field leadership experience in landscape construction
- Strong experience managing planting crews and large-scale landscape installations
- Excellent understanding of construction plans, civil drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Proven ability to lead crews, organize field operations, and keep multiple priorities moving
- Strong understanding of job costing, production tracking, and project financial performance
- Experience with public works, government, heavy civil, or large commercial construction is highly preferred
- Familiarity with submittals, payment applications, change orders, and project closeout documentation
- Ability to work throughout New Jersey and New York, including the Five Boroughs, Orange, Rockland, and Putnam Counties
- Current OSHA/SST certifications and a strong commitment to jobsite safety
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with platforms such as Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD, Salesforce, and Microsoft 365
- Excellent communication, follow-through, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate crews and hold teams accountable
- Professional, dependable, and comfortable representing the company with clients and project partners

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
