Overview
About NDX Security:
We are a custom security and home automation company based in Prosper, serving the Collin County area. We don't deal in the cookie-cutter, pre-packaged equipment bundles that the big mass-market providers push. Instead, we take a custom approach—we pick the right hardware for each specific job and build systems that actually fit the customer's home and lifestyle. We are looking for an experienced, reliable technician who takes real pride in doing clean, high-quality work to join us early and help run our field operations.
What You’ll Do:
- Wiring and Data Racks: Running bulk cable (Cat6, speaker wire, security wire), mounting devices, and keeping all wiring looking exceptionally neat, organized, and well-labeled.
- Equipment Installation: Mounting and setting up smart home controllers, touch screens, security sensors, cameras, and network gear like routers, switches, and access points.
- Network Connections: Connecting security and automation gear directly into the home’s network infrastructure so the video feeds and systems stay fast and reliable.
- Client Walkthroughs: Showing homeowners how to use their new system in plain, everyday English so they feel completely comfortable with it before you leave.
- Code Compliance: Making sure all work is done safely, cleanly, and follows Texas state and local security regulations.
What We’re Looking For (Requirements):
- Hands-on experience in low-voltage wiring, audio/video, or alarm systems.
- A solid understanding of basic networking (knowing how to handle Wi-Fi setup, routers, and basic IP configurations) and how to use standard cable testers or multi-meters to troubleshoot wiring issues.
- Professional, reliable, on time, and comfortable talking with clients in their homes.
- Clean driving record and a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to pass the Texas DPS background check and fingerprinting process to get your alarm installer pocket card. (Note: If you already have an active Texas Guard Card or security registration, that is a huge plus because we can fast-track your paperwork).
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience physically installing or configuring Alarm.com or Control4 hardware.
- Current industry certifications, such as an ESA Certified Alarm Technician (CAT) or AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS).
Hours & Schedule:
This position starts as Part-Time / Project-Based. Hours will fluctuate based on our active setup schedule (roughly 10–25 hours a week to start, mostly daytime weekdays, with some weekend flexibility). For a technician who does clean, reliable work and takes good care of our clients, this role has a direct path to turn into a permanent, Full-Time position as we grow.
Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
