Tree House After School Programs is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Music Instructor to lead engaging music classes for students during after school hours. This role is ideal for a music educator or experienced musician who enjoys working with preschool-aged students and is passionate about introducing children to music through interactive, hands-on, and age-appropriate activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate music lessons for preschool-aged students.
- Introduce students to fundamental musical concepts through singing, rhythm, movement, instruments, and interactive activities.
- Lead students through structured music activities, individual practice, and group exercises.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Adapt lessons and activities to accommodate different ages, skill levels, and learning styles.
- Manage classroom behavior professionally and maintain a safe learning environment.
- Encourage students’ creativity, confidence, participation, and interest in music.
- Communicate effectively with Tree House program coordinators and school staff.
- Track student participation and progress when required by the program.
Qualifications
- Experience teaching music or working with children in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to explain musical concepts in a clear and age-appropriate manner.
- Ability to lead structured group music activities.
- Comfortable working with young children and maintaining an engaging classroom environment.
- Dependable, punctual, and professional.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or background in Music, Music Education, Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Experience teaching music to preschool-aged students.
- Experience working with children's enrichment or after school programs.
- Experience with singing, rhythm, musical instruments, or early childhood music education.
Compensation & Term
$90 per class.
