Job Summary:
This role is primarily responsible for the efficient and quality setup and operation of grinding and thread rolling machines in a safe and orderly manner while maximizing production output using efficient and effective methods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Troubleshoot and perform offsets to centreless grinders and thread roller as needed
- Set up operating parameters for centreless grinders and thread rollers
- Select equipment, grinding wheels, blades, coolants, filtration systems, rollers
- Use Lead checker, Comparator, micrometer and Tri mic
- Some computer work
- Maintain clean a safe work area
- Work with minimal supervision
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Math skills
- Strong fine motor skills
- Good manual dexterity and visual acuity to manipulate micrometers, calipers and other precision hand tools
- Basic computer knowledge
- High school degree or GED
- 1+ years machine operation experience
Additional Characteristics:
- This position may require standing for long periods of time, up to 8 hours per day
- Requires the ability to lift 30+ lbs. occasionally, 20-30 lbs. frequently, and up to 20 lbs. constantly
- This position may be exposed to various industrial cleaning chemicals and oils
