Classroom Teachers
Mon-Fri from 8:30AM to 2:45PM or 8:30AM-5:30PM (with monthly evening staff meetings) - full year.
Working with young children requires patience, attentiveness, and a genuine passion for early childhood education. At Gan Aviv, our teachers and assistants play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where every child can learn, grow, and thrive. Below is an overview of the daily responsibilities and expectations for our classroom staff.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain constant awareness of the children in your care, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Build positive, caring relationships with each child while supporting their individual emotional and developmental needs.
- Foster a warm and encouraging classroom environment through patience, kindness, and effective communication.
- Assist with classroom routines, including transitions, snack time, clean-up, and other daily activities.
- Support children's learning through songs, stories, creative activities, and age-appropriate instruction.
- Encourage positive behavior and help children develop social, emotional, and problem-solving skills.
- Work collaboratively with fellow teachers and assistants to ensure the classroom operates smoothly and efficiently.
- Maintain professionalism by communicating clearly with children, colleagues, and families while modeling respectful behavior.
We are looking for classroom teachers who:
- Are nurturing, reliable, responsible, positive & a team player!
- Have reliable transportation and a strong work ethic.
- Are 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma/GED.
- Can work 5 days a week from 8:30AM to 2:45PM or 8:30AM-5:30PM
- Rate of pay is based on experience, position you are hired for and type of degree you have, if any (but is not required).
- Hebrew speaker a plus but not required.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with students in an educational setting, preferably in a preschool or early childhood education environment
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices
- Familiarity with literacy education strategies for young children
- Ability to assist with lesson planning and implementation
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively manage student behavior in a positive manner
- Knowledge of toddler care practices is a plus
