Role Overview
The Saw Operator is responsible for accurately cutting stone materials according to approved cut sheets and production specifications. This role serves as the first critical production step in the fabrication process, ensuring materials are cut safely, efficiently, and accurately while minimizing waste and maintaining production schedules.

Key Responsibilities
- Review cut sheet packets for assigned jobs
- Verify material specifications: Material type, Thickness, Finish, Cut requirements, Slab numbers
- Inspect materials for defects before cutting
- Report any discrepancies or concerns immediately to the Operations Manager
Saw Operation & Cutting
- Review cut sheets and layouts before cutting
- Set up the saw and verify blade drop positions
- Operate the saw safely and efficiently based on material type
- Monitor and adjust cutting speed as necessary
- Handle all materials carefully throughout the cutting process
- Maintain accuracy and consistency on all cuts
Quality Control
- Inspect all cut pieces for Accurate dimensions, Straight and clean cuts, Proper labeling, Minimal chipping or damage
- Ensure all materials meet specifications before moving to fabrication
- Immediately communicate quality concerns to the Operations Manager
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
- Operate saws and related equipment
- Perform daily inspections of equipment
- Monitor water flow and blade condition
- Change blades as required for different material types
- Keep equipment clean and free of debris
- Report maintenance needs or equipment issues immediately
Shop Organization & Safety
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Store materials and cut pieces properly to prevent damage
- Keep walkways and cutting areas clear of hazards
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Utilize proper lifting techniques and material-handling equipment
Daily Responsibilities
- Review and execute assigned cutting jobs
- Verify materials prior to cutting
- Maintain cutting accuracy and production efficiency
- Keep work areas clean and organized
- Communicate job status and production issues to the Operations Manager
- Stage cut materials for fabrication

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
