Activities Director
Position Summary:
The Activities Director is responsible for the day-to-day resident engagement. This position promotes and integrates the mission and philosophy of Willow Ridge Senior Living. Manages and supervises the Activities Assistants, volunteers, and drivers (where applicable). This position is Tuesday - Saturday 9am - 5pm.
Essential Functions:
- Promotes the company’s quality of life and holistic wellness in all aspects of his/her role to include interactions with residents, family, and staff.
- Implements the monthly programming calendar.
- Plans and prepares for daily resident activities and events.
- Lead high quality innovative programs to include a minimum of 3 – 5 self-lead programs daily.
- Implements programs to promote excellence in programming while maintaining a high level of resident/family/staff satisfaction in a responsible manner.
- Maintains current knowledge of Senior topics and participates in community training as assigned.
- Able to think creatively and independently to meet worthwhile objectives.
- Able to be innovative to create and generate solutions and programs.
- Able to act in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of the issues.
- Able to use reason, even when dealing with emotional topics.
- Able to define realistic, specific goals and objectives.
- Able to define tasks and deliverables necessary to meet goals. Can assign resources and set priorities to meet goals.
- Identifies, obtains, and effectively allocates the resources required to achieve applicable goals.
- Refined communication and intrapersonal skills enabling.
- Ability to work varied schedules to include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:
- Outgoing personality that can encourage daily participation in life engagement activities.
- Three to Five years related experience and/or training.
- Able to clearly present information through the spoken word. Can accurately communicate, providing the necessary level of detail even under stressful or demanding conditions. Ensures a positive attitude and team orientation is exhibited in verbal and non-verbal communication.
- Solid performance management skills, including the ability to communicate performance expectations, document performance conversations, coach and document performance issues and complete performance management expectations as guided by the company.
- Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment and discretion to make decisions designed to achieve company expectations and goals for the community.
- Able to operate standard office equipment.
- Ability to effectively utilize technology including use of computers, iPad/Tablet use, Word programming, internet access, email, and social media.
- Position requires driving responsibilities (may use company provided vehicle and/or personal vehicle). Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
