We are seeking an experienced Towing/Recovery Operator to join our professional team. This role involves providing reliable vehicle recovery and towing services, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and efficiency.
Duties
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and other specialized equipment, to recover and transport vehicles safely.
- Perform automotive diagnostics and basic repairs as needed during recovery operations.
- Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or winches.
- Manage conflict situations with customers professionally, ensuring positive interactions even under stressful circumstances.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on tow trucks and recovery equipment to ensure optimal functioning.
- Assist with vehicle assessments to determine the best recovery approach, including mechanical troubleshooting when necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all recoveries, including details of incidents and services provided.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during operations to ensure personal and public safety.
Experience
- Proven experience operating tow trucks, especially flatbeds and other recovery vehicles.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with automotive diagnostics, repair skills, and familiarity with manual transmissions.
- Experience in automotive repair or mechanic work is highly desirable.
- Commercial driving experience with a valid driver’s license suitable for operating heavy-duty trucks.
- Knowledge of conflict management techniques for handling difficult customer interactions professionally.
- Skills in load & unload procedures, including the safe use of forklifts or other lifting equipment.
- Prior experience with automotive diagnostics, automotive repair, or mechanic work is preferred but not mandatory for highly motivated candidates willing to learn on the job. Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
