Position: High School Assistant Football Coach
Location: Fort Lupton High School
Reports to: Fort Lupton High School Head Coach
Salary: Based on the 202627 Extra Duty Schedule (Tier 2 @ up to 8%, based on experience)
Summary:
Fort Lupton High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Football Coach for the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate has prior coaching and/or playing experience, is passionate about teaching the game of football, and is committed to helping student-athletes develop both on and off the field.
This position works under the direction of the Head Football Coach to support the overall vision, expectations, and success of the football program. The Assistant Coach will collaborate with athletes, families, staff, feeder programs, and the community to foster a positive, competitive, and student-centered culture.

Responsibilities:
Program Leadership

Assist the Head Football Coach with planning, organizing, and implementing daily practices, games, and team activities.

Coach assigned position groups and assist with offensive, defensive, and/or special teams instruction as directed by the Head Coach.

Support the implementation of the program's philosophy, culture, expectations, and systems across Varsity, Junior Varsity, Freshman, and middle school programs.

Assist with game preparation, scouting, film breakdown, opponent analysis, and practice planning.

Coordinate with the athletic department regarding schedules, transportation, equipment, uniforms, and facility use.

Ensure compliance with all school, district, league, and CHSAA policies and procedures.

Promote a positive team culture built on Accountability, Integrity, Pride, and Perseverance.
Athlete Development
-
Teach football fundamentals, position-specific techniques, game strategy, and proper skill progression.

Develop student-athletes' football IQ, leadership skills, work ethic, and character.

Prepare athletes for advancement within the football program.

Encourage academic achievement, responsibility, sportsmanship, and positive decision-making.

Provide regular instruction, mentorship, and constructive feedback to support individual improvement.

Assist with offseason strength and conditioning, skill development opportunities, camps, and program retention efforts.
Communication & Relationship
-
Maintain clear, professional, and timely communication with players, parents, coaching staff, and school administration.

Support strong relationships with feeder middle school football programs, youth football organizations, and the Fort Lupton community.

Represent Fort Lupton High School and the football program in a positive and professional manner at all times.

Assist with team meetings, parent meetings, and program events as requested
Safety & Supervision
-
Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants.

Teach and reinforce proper tackling techniques and safe football fundamentals.

Supervise student-athletes during practices, competitions, travel, team events, and offseason activities.

Respond appropriately to injuries, emergencies, and student concerns following district policies and established safety protocols.

Promote proper sportsmanship and uphold high standards of conduct on and off the field.
Qualifications:
-
Previous coaching and/or competitive playing experience in football preferred.
-
Knowledge of football fundamentals, rules, and player development strategies.

Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
-
Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
-
CPR/First Aid certified (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

Must pass a background check, sign the district Coaches Handbook/Manual, and meet all district, CHSAA, and coaching certification requirements.
Additional Expectations:
-
Available for after-school practices, games, summer workouts, team meetings, and occasional weekend events.

Attend preseason, in-season, postseason, and offseason meetings as requested.

Participate in offseason strength and conditioning, youth camps, clinics, and football program development activities.

Meet regularly with the Head Football Coach and Athletic Director regarding program needs, athlete progress, and program goals.

Support student-athletes academically, socially, and personally.

Assist with equipment management, inventory, field setup, and other operational responsibilities as assigned.

Contribute to building a positive, competitive, and sustainable football program that develops student-athletes and reflects the values of Fort Lupton High School.
