Tactical Care is seeking compassionate, dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team. DSPs provide direct support to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in licensed residential settings.
Our goal is to provide person-centered supports that promote safety, independence, skill development, community inclusion, and an improved quality of life. Every individual we support has unique strengths, goals, and needs, and our staff play an important role in helping them achieve meaningful outcomes.
This position is primarily based in one of our children's residential programs. Opportunities to work in our adult residential programs may also be available based on organizational needs and employee interest.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support in accordance with each person's support plan and individual needs.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and other daily routines as needed.
- Administer medications after successfully completing required training.
- Support individuals in developing daily living, communication, and social skills.
- Encourage participation in recreational, educational, vocational, and community-based activities.
- Transport individuals to appointments, school, work, recreational activities, and community outings as assigned.
- Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful home environment.
- Follow all company policies, licensing requirements, and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Work collaboratively with coworkers, supervisors, families, case managers, and other members of the individual's support team.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass a Minnesota DHS background study.
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain professional relationships.
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience is welcomed but not required. Paid training is provided.
