Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, offering product recommendations and demonstrations when appropriate
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems efficiently for transactions, including cash handling, credit card processing, and returns
- Maintain attractive merchandise displays through merchandising and stocking efforts to maximize sales potential
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits, enhancing their shopping experience
- Upsell complementary products to meet customer needs while increasing store sales
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves, organizing back stock, and conducting regular stock checks
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Support cashiering duties with accurate retail math calculations and cash handling procedures
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a customer-focused attitude are essential
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in guiding team members or managing tasks efficiently
- Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve diverse customer bases effectively
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and basic math skills will ensure smooth transactions
- Strong communication skills are necessary for engaging with customers and team members alike
- Experience in merchandising, stocking, or conducting product demos will help you excel in this role
