The Assistant Director serves Christ with a heart that cares deeply for God’s redeemed people and for the lost. This role ensures that Trinity’s Early Learning Center staff proclaims Jesus Christ and His Word, provides a nurturing Christian environment, and supports each child as a loved and forgiven child of God. The Assistant Director works in partnership with parents and staff to support healthy development, and is responsible for supervising, guiding, and growing the ELC team to meet and exceed educational standards and goals.

Qualifications:
- With a servant’s heart, evident in conduct, witness, and love for the Lord and His children.
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience as a lead childcare teacher
- Proficient in computer use
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Good judgment and leadership for the benefit of students, staff, and families

- CPR and First Aid Certified
Spiritual Leadership
The Assistant Director will:
- Continually develop a personal relationship with Jesus through prayer, worship, and study
- Pray for and seek opportunities to share Christ, supporting Trinity’s outreach and mission events (Birthday Party for Jesus, Trunk-or-Treat, Easter, add community building events)

Ministry to Caregivers, Students, and Families
The Assistant Director will:
- Promote and carry out Trinity’s mission and the senior pastor’s vision
- Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed
- Post and maintain accurate information regarding allergies, medication, and health alerts
- Monitor and respond to injuries, behavior concerns, and emergencies
- Maintain accurate records using ProCare (attendance, incidents, behaviors)
- Serve as an Abuse-Mandated Reporter
- Partner with parents to address concerns sensitively and promptly
- Communicate regularly with the ELC Director regarding issues or updates
- Help facilitate family ministry events hosted by the ELC, Trinity School, or Church
- Support the Toddler 2 classroom in toilet learning documentation and communication
- Create a nurturing environment built on the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23)
- Demonstrate emotional maturity and composure, even under pressure
- Train staff to create play-rich, developmentally appropriate learning environments
- Support behavior management best practices and classroom discipline
- Provide two hours of prep time weekly to each lead teacher
- Cover classrooms during parent/teacher conferences
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by the ELC Director
Physical Demands
This role requires:
- Regular standing, walking, speaking, listening, and sensory awareness
- Frequent use of hands for tasks and tools
- Ability to sit, bend, kneel, climb, balance, twist, crawl, and stoop
- Occasional lifting/moving of up to 50 lbs
- Visual acuity, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
- Ability to run in emergencies
Supervision of ELC Caregivers
The Assistant Director will:
- Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising staff (ELC, WAC, SSP)
- Hold bi-monthly 1:1 check-ins with all support caregivers
- Maintain two-way communication and track team strengths and challenges
- Lead performance improvement plans or “rumbles” as needed
- Serve as lead communicator in ELC chat groups
- Manage staff scheduling, including call-ins and coverage adjustments
- Support team in addressing student behavior and maintain documentation
- Help facilitate caregiver-parent meetings
- Adjust timesheets (ECC team schedule) for staff attendance accuracy
- Assist with classroom coverage, teacher prep, and staff breaks
- Work 22 hours per week in classrooms
- Ensure best practices are implemented in classroom operations
- Help lead the vision and quality expectations of the ELC alongside the Director
Administrative & Operational Expectations
The Assistant Director will:
- Maintain accurate, confidential records for staff and children
- Communicate classroom supply needs to the director
- Maintain and distribute emergency supplies and bags
- Co-lead staff meetings (per ELC calendar)
- Oversee classroom cleanliness and upkeep
- Use technology and manage relevant apps effectively
- Attend and represent the ELC at all Trinity open house nights (2/year)
- Participate in all required Trinity staff and team day meetings
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
