Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes and flavor combinations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety regulations
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices
- Serve dishes promptly and professionally, providing excellent customer service when needed
- Follow all food industry safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure quality
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within a restaurant or food service setting
- Strong knife skills with the ability to efficiently chop, slice, and prepare ingredients
- Knowledge of dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Ability to plan menus and execute meal preparation with attention to detail
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment, food safety standards, and sanitation practices
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work under pressure in a busy environment
