Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service to enhance their shopping experience
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for cash handling, credit card processing, and returns
- Assist customers with product and answer questions about merchandise to promote sales
- Upsell products by recommending complementary items and informing customers of current promotions
- Maintain attractive merchandise displays through merchandising and stocking efforts
- Ensure the sales floor is organized, clean, and well-stocked to maximize sales opportunities
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information or directing calls as needed
- Manage inventory by assisting with stock replenishment and inventory counts
- Demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and customers
- Follow all store policies related to cashiering, safety, and customer service standards
Experience
- Prior retail sales or cashiering experience preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is highly desirable
- Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving a diverse customer base
- Experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments is beneficial
- Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and customer service excellence
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy retail setting while maintaining attention to detail
