About this Role
We are expanding our creative team and seeking a Director of Residential Design who will lead our portfolio of residential projects from concept through final installation, manage our skilled and talented junior design staff, and work directly with our Chief Creative Officer + Founder on the day-to-day operations of our design studio.
The ideal candidate is an experienced interior designer who leads by example — bringing creativity, technical expertise, and strong leadership while ensuring every project reflects Krywicki Interior Design's commitment to timeless design, exceptional service, and meticulous execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead high-end residential projects from concept through final installation.
- Establish the design direction for each project, including space planning, finish selections, custom detailing, lighting, and FF&E.
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, and deliverables while ensuring projects remain on track.
- Execute, review, and coordinate construction drawings, specifications, and design documentation for accuracy and quality.
- Present design concepts and solutions with confidence while building strong client relationships.
- Collaborate closely with architects, builders, consultants, artisans, vendors, and contractors throughout each project.
- Mentor, manage, and develop junior designers and design assistants through coaching, delegation, and regular feedback.
- Provide redline reviews, quality checks, and guidance that elevates both the work and the growth of the team.
- Conduct site visits and coordinate with contractors to ensure proper design execution.
- Partner with the Chief Creative Officer + Founder to support the day-to-day operations of the design studio.
- Help develop and improve studio processes, workflows, and systems that create greater efficiency and consistency.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional interior design experience, including leadership or project management responsibilities.
- Extensive experience managing high-end residential projects.
- Expectation to actively participate in production of deliverables using InDesign and Excel. Revit experience is preferred, or must be willing to learn. Sketch-up is a plus, but not required.
- Strong understanding of construction documentation, detailing, space planning, and project management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Demonstrated experience leading design teams and mentoring junior designers.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
- MUST be located in the Atlanta area and available to work in our Marietta studio on a weekly basis Monday through Thursday (Fridays are remote).
- Ability to travel to sites and assist with physical on-site installations.
Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
