Little Hearts of Clinton Daycare Center, LLC is seeking a motivated and passionate Interim Childcare Director to join our leadership team!
This position is designed as a leadership development role for someone who is ready to grow into a director position. The successful candidate will begin by working alongside our current leadership team, learning the day-to-day operations of the center, supporting classrooms, and becoming familiar with our policies, procedures, and administrative responsibilities.
As training progresses, the role will transition into administrative leadership with the goal of assuming the responsibilities of the Acting Director within approximately 6 to 12 months, depending on the needs of the center and the candidate's progress.
Position Responsibilities
- Support daily classroom operations and center-wide needs.
- Learn all aspects of childcare center management and licensing compliance.
- Assist with administrative duties, enrollment, staff support, and family communication.
- Work closely with the current leadership team to ensure a smooth transition into the director role.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet Illinois DCFS Director Qualifications, including one of the following:
Option 1
- An Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Child Development or Early Childhood Education.
OR
Option 2
- At least 64 semester hours (96 quarter hours) of college coursework in any discipline, including a minimum of 21 semester hours (31.5 quarter hours) in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or Early Childhood Special Education, and one of the following:
- A Gateways to Opportunity Level I Illinois Director Credential;
- 3 semester hours (4.5 quarter hours) of college coursework in child care administration, leadership, or management; or
- 3 points of credential-approved training in child care administration, leadership, or management.
