Summary
Under the direction of the Education Manager, the Head Start Instructor assesses each child's needs and skills, works with parents to set goals for each child, and prepares and presents learning activities that address those goals, encourage creativity, and teach basic skills. Teacher will be expected to use the Creative Curriculum to teach age-appropriate literacy, math, social-emotional, language, science and physical skills. We believe in a whole-child approach using hands-on methods (no dittos or worksheets). Hours are M-F 8:00-4:00, daily.
Position is located inside of an elementary school in Davis School District teaching 3-5 year old preschool children with two assistant teachers.
Education Required
AA in Early Childhood, or related, required. Bachelor's preferred.
Certification Required within 45 days of Hire
Food Handler's Permit
CPR and First Aid Certification
License Required
Driver's License and own transportation
