Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will provide essential support across a broad spectrum of legal practice areas, including a heavy focus on bankruptcy law with some civil litigation. Your expertise will help streamline case management, conduct legal research, draft documents, and assist the attorney in preparing for trials, hearings, and negotiations. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using Fastcase, and other legal research tools to support case development across various practice areas.
- Draft, review, proofread, and file legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Manage legal case files; ensure all records are accurate, organized, and accessible.
- Assist the attorney with project management tasks including tracking deadlines, scheduling meetings, and coordinating client communications.
- Perform document review and data entry to support litigation cases.
- Conduct interviews with clients or witnesses as part of case preparation; document findings thoroughly.
- Support administrative functions such as filing paperwork with courts or agencies and maintaining organized case documentation.
- Draft Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Petitions using Bestcase bankruptcy software.
Qualifications
- Must have experience with the Florida e-Filing portal and Federal ECF e-Filing portal.
- Proven paralegal experience with a strong understanding of diverse legal fields including bankruptcy, criminal, and and civil litigation procedures.
- Must have experience in bankruptcy case preparation;
- Must have experience with Bestcase Bankruptcy software.
- Proficiency in legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft clear legal documents; strong proofreading and transcription abilities.
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience in document management systems and data entry.
- Strong interviewing skills combined with professional phone etiquette for client interactions.
- Ability to handle clerical tasks such as filing, record keeping, and administrative support effectively.
- Knowledge of various practice areas including bankruptcy, criminal law, civil litigation processes is a plus.
- Must speak Spanish
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
