Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. In this full-time role, you will work hand-in-hand under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Your work will directly empower our residents, promoting their functional independence, safety, and overall well-being.
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Direct Patient Care: Implement and execute comprehensive, evidence-based treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Therapeutic Activities: Guide residents through targeted exercises, including Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), manual therapy, and modality applications to improve coordination, fine motor skills, and daily function.
- Monitoring & Education: Track and document resident progress, reporting updates to the supervising OT. Educate residents and families on treatment protocols and strategies for long-term independence.
- Adaptive Equipment: Instruct and train residents on the proper, safe use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain precise, timely, and compliant electronic records of patient treatments and outcomes in alignment with federal, state, and facility standards.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Partner closely with our nursing, physical therapy, and speech-language pathology teams to ensure seamless, holistic patient care.
