Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious CDL Roll-Off Driver to join our dynamic waste management team. In this vital role, you will operate specialized roll-off trucks to transport and dispose of municipal and commercial waste efficiently and responsibly. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, adherence to safety protocols, and excellent customer service skills will ensure smooth operations across various routes. Responsibilities
- Safely operate roll-off trucks and tractor-trailers, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) and state transportation regulations.
- Load, unload, and transport waste materials using appropriate equipment such as packer trucks, rack bodies, low boys, and roll offs.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including air brake systems and mechanical components, to maintain optimal safety and performance standards.
- Adhere to traffic laws and safety protocols during route driving, maintaining awareness of road conditions and other traffic participants.
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, pickups, route activities, and vehicle maintenance records in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Perform heavy lifting and manual loading tasks as required while following proper ergonomic practices to prevent injury.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years experience as CDL driver Class A & B with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience operating commercial trucks such as roll-off trucks, garbage trucks, dump trucks, or tractor-trailers in municipal or solid waste management settings.
- Valid CDL license with necessary endorsements for air brakes, hazardous materials regulations (HazMat), and manual transmission operation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safety protocols related to commercial driving and outdoor work environments.
- Familiarity with mechanical knowledge of heavy-duty trucks and equipment maintenance is preferred.
- Prior delivery driver experience with route driving responsibilities is highly advantageous.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards.
