We're a California-based litigation firm with 45+ years of experience representing clients in business, construction and real estate disputes. With a statewide practice, we tackle complex cases that require sharp minds, strategic thinking and the occasional deep breath. We believe lawsuits are often the worst way to resolve disputes—but when they're necessary, we fight hard and smart for our clients.
The Litigation Paralegal Role: We're looking for a seasoned litigation paralegal—minimum 5 years in the trenches—who can hit the ground running (and keep running without someone constantly checking if you're still on track). This is NOT an entry-level position, and it's NOT a remote one either—this role is fully on-site in our Irvine office. You've been around the block. You know the difference between interrogatories and requests for admission, you've got California civil procedure basically memorized, and you've drafted discovery responses in your sleep (please don't actually do this—we support work-life balance).
What You'll Be Doing:
- Drafting shell pleadings, written discovery—interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission—and legal memoranda like the pro you are
- Preparing and responding to discovery requests, managing document productions from start to finish
- Running e-discovery workflows across document review platforms without breaking stride
- Supporting attorneys through every phase of trial prep—exhibits, witness materials, courthouse logistics, the works
- Managing cases with minimal supervision because micromanagement isn't our style
- Organizing case files, deadlines and documents with the kind of precision that would make Marie Kondo proud—wait, who's Marie Kondo?
- Supporting attorneys in business, construction and real estate litigation matters
- Writing clearly, concisely and persuasively (typos make us twitch)
- Juggling multiple priorities without breaking a sweat (or at least without showing it)
- Doing all of the above in person, in our office, surrounded by actual humans (and probably a coffee machine that's seen better days)
What You Bring:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal in a law firm environment (we're talking years, not months)
- Strong understanding of California civil procedure and litigation practices—you don't need to Google it, and neither do we want you to
- Hands-on experience with e-discovery platforms and document review tools (goldfinch, Relativity, DISCO, Everlaw or similar—if you have a favorite, we want to hear about it)
- A genuine handle on the discovery process end-to-end—drafting, responding, meeting and conferring on disputes, and keeping productions on schedule
- Proven trial prep experience—exhibits, witness materials, courthouse logistics
- Written discovery expertise – you could draft an RFP in your sleep (again, please don't)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and legal case management systems
- Business and construction litigation background preferred (bonus points if you know the difference between a lis pendens and a mechanics lien without Googling it)
- Ability to work independently – we trust you to manage your workload like the professional you are
- Exceptional time management skills – deadlines don't scare you; you scare them
- Outstanding written communication – style, diction and grammar matters, and you know it
- Notary Public certification is a plus
- Comfort with a full-time, in-office schedule—this position works from our Irvine location, not your kitchen table
- A sense of humor helps (you made it this far in the ad, so we're optimistic)
What We Offer the Right Litigation Paralegal:
- Competitive compensation and bonus (because experience deserves real reward)
- The opportunity to work with a team that values expertise and autonomy
- Interesting, complex cases that'll keep you engaged
- A collaborative environment where your skills are appreciated—in person, where the energy actually is
Not a Good Fit If:
- You're just starting your paralegal career (we love your enthusiasm, but this isn't the right role...yet)
- You need constant hand-holding (we're supportive, but you should know what you're doing)
- Deadlines are more like "suggestions" to you (to us and the Court they're certainly not)
- "Discovery" makes you think of a TV channel and not a phase of litigation
- You're hoping this is a remote or hybrid gig—it's not, and we'd rather tell you now than after you've unpacked your home office
Ready to Join Us? If you're an experienced litigation paralegal who takes pride in excellent work, can manage your own caseload and appreciates a workplace that values both professionalism and personality, we'd love to hear from you. Just make sure you're ready to show up—literally, in Irvine, in person.
