Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm, setting a positive tone from the start
- Take accurate orders via POS systems (Aloha, Micros), noting all special requests
- Deliver food and beverages promptly, maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
- Process cash and credit card transactions efficiently, including tips
- Recommend and upsell specialty drinks, desserts, and wine to enhance the guest experience
- Offer informed pairing suggestions on wine, spirits, and cocktails based on guest preferences
- Reset tables after bus to keep the dining room clean and welcoming
- Support the team with host/hostess duties — seating guests and assisting with bussing as needed
- Uphold food safety and sanitation standards throughout service
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant settings, fine dining a plus
- Working knowledge of POS systems (Aloha, Micros, OpenTable) for order entry and sales
- Strong customer service skills and a knack for building guest rapport
- Solid time management — able to prioritize during rushes without sacrificing quality
- Basic math skills for accurate billing and change handling
- Familiarity with wine, spirits, and cocktail service
- Understanding of food safety protocols and proper handling procedures
- Confident cash handling and transaction processing experience
- A team-first attitude and willingness to pitch in wherever needed
