Overview
Bao Bei is a fast-casual Taiwanese restaurant opening soon in Rockville, MD. We are seeking experienced Prep Cooks to join our back-of-house team. This role is critical in prepping fresh ingredients, and ensuring efficient kitchen operations. Candidates should have strong knife skills, be comfortable with scratch prep (including dough work), and work well in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Wash, chop, and prepare vegetables, proteins, and sauces to spec
- Work the Fryer for all active orders.
- Assist with dough preparation and shaping for handmade bao and buns
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation and kitchen environment
- Follow recipes and prep lists accurately for consistent quality
- Use kitchen equipment and knives safely and efficiently
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to support service flow
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times
Requirements
- Previous prep cook or kitchen experience preferred (1+ year)
- Solid knife skills and comfort with scratch-made food prep
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork mindset
- Available to work evenings and weekends as needed

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
