Position Summary
Tree House Craft Cannabis is seeking professional, dependable, and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Front Entrance Security Associates.
This role is responsible for maintaining a professional security presence at the front entrance while helping ensure the property remains safe, clean, welcoming, and well-managed for customers, staff, neighboring businesses, and visitors. This is a visibility, awareness, customer service, light property care, and policy-enforcement role requiring maturity, professionalism, and sound judgment.
The ideal candidate is attentive, calm under pressure, respectful, reliable, and comfortable addressing issues professionally while taking pride in maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
Compensation & Growth Opportunity
Starting pay is $18.00 per hour during the initial training and onboarding period.
Associates who successfully complete the company’s 30-Day Front Entrance Security Training Program, demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and meet performance expectations may be advanced to $20.00 per hour.
The training program includes:
- Professional security presence and conduct
- Situational awareness and vigilance
- Customer service and communication
- De-escalation and conflict management
- Property standards and cleanliness expectations
- Incident reporting and escalation procedures
- Attendance, punctuality, and consistency
- Live scenario roleplay and supervisor evaluations
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional and visible security presence at the front entrance and surrounding common areas
- Welcome guests and direct visitors appropriately
- Monitor activity near entrances, parking areas, sidewalks, and shared spaces
- Enforce company and property expectations respectfully and consistently
- Address issues such as loitering, smoking near entrances, misuse of common areas, and unauthorized animals
- Help keep parking lot, walkways, and entrance areas clean and presentable
- Remove visible trash and report larger cleanup or maintenance issues
- Assist with monitoring and addressing pet waste concerns in common outdoor areas
- Conduct routine exterior walkthroughs to identify cleanliness or safety concerns
- Communicate concerns promptly to management
- Complete basic incident documentation when needed
- Support a positive customer experience through professionalism and courtesy
- Remain alert and engaged throughout the shift
- Follow uniform, appearance, and conduct standards
Qualifications
- Security, hospitality, retail, facilities, military, customer service, or similar experience preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to remain calm during difficult interactions
- Good judgment and situational awareness
- Comfortable enforcing rules respectfully
- Willingness to assist with cleanliness and exterior appearance standards
- Must be able to pass applicable background requirements
Uniform Requirement
This position requires wearing a company-issued or company-approved security uniform during all scheduled shifts. Uniform standards may include:
- Security-style button-down shirt or approved top
- Professional pants
- Proper all black work shoes or boots
- Name badge or identification if issued
- Clean, neat, professional appearance
Physical Requirements
Candidates should be able to perform the essential duties of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Stand and remain on foot for extended periods, often 6 to 8 hours per shift
- Walk indoor and outdoor areas regularly throughout shift, including New England weather
- Bend, squat, kneel, reach, and twist regularly
- Climb stairs repeatedly where applicable
- Lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally
- Push or pull light cleaning equipment or waste containers
- Move quickly in response to developing situations
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions for portions of shift
- Visually observe people, vehicles, entrances, and surrounding activity
- Handle trash bags, cleanup tools, and related supplies
- Verbally communicate clearly in person and by phone/radio
Work Environment
- Retail cannabis environment
- Indoor and outdoor post assignments
- Interaction with customers and the public throughout shift
- Fast-paced environment during peak periods
- Exposure to weather, outdoor debris, and routine exterior cleanup conditions
- Weekend, evening, and holiday availability may be required
