Infant/Toddler Teacher at Primrose School of Arlington
As an Infant/Toddler Teacher at Primrose School of Arlington, you will play a key role in helping young minds explore, discover, and understand the world around them.
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Infant/Toddler Teacher to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate program that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child, in line with the Primrose Balanced Learning® approach to teaching and learning.
Primrose School of Arlington is a private preschool that provides a premier educational child care experience. We offer year-round programs for children ranging from infants through elementary school age.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee the supervision and daily functions of a group of young children.
- Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations set by Primrose School of Arlington and local, state, or national regulatory agencies regarding the health, safety, and care of children.
- Continuously assess each child's developmental needs and progress.
- Implement approved lesson plans and daily schedules in alignment with the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum and programming.
- Collaborate with the Leadership Team to plan and conduct parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations.
- Maintain a welcoming, organized, and well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions with confidence.
- Provide verbal recognition and acceptance to children while setting clear, consistent behavioral expectations.
- Take responsibility for the maintenance and cleanliness of the classroom, common areas, and playgrounds.
- Attend all required staff meetings, workshops, and school functions.
- Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with the guidelines in the Employee Handbook.
- Assist in other areas as directed by the Director or designee.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Must meet the basic requirements of the local child care regulatory agency for the state of Virginia.
- Previous experience as a lead teacher in an infant or toddler program at a licensed early childhood program is required.
- Knowledge of the social, emotional, and developmental needs of young children.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. for the safe handling of children and in case of emergency situations.
- Must be able to properly lift infants in and out of cribs.
- CDA Certification NEEDED or a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or Psychology
