Responsibilities:
- Register and greet the patients.
- Describes the contents of the patient signage packet, as well as all paperwork needed to be signed.
- Confirm demographic and insurance information and make sure it is updated in the system.
- Check patient ID by copying or checking driver’s license or other forms of ID.
- Prepare new charts with all necessary forms.
- Prepare patient labels.
- Ensure that every chart is complete, reviews all information and marks chart ready after reviewing all necessary paperwork is included.
- Maintain charts in a neat, clean, orderly, and current fashion.
- Maintains EMR, adequately corrects information.
- Maintain neatness and cleanliness of the waiting room.
- Demographic calls for patients include arrival times for the next day (on specific situations to be explained by supervisor).
- Answer all phone calls, take accurate messages, ensure calls are directed to the proper personnel. Efficiently notifies proper personnel before transferring the call.
- Keep the work area neat and clean.
- Maintains a professional and ethical relationship with patients and physician offices.
- All other duties as assigned.
Skills:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Preferred at least two years’ experience in a medically related business office.
- Computer operation and data entry skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work well with others
