Duties
- Safely operate a box truck for local deliveries along designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or forklifts as needed, ensuring items are secured properly for transit
- Provide outstanding customer service by communicating clearly with clients during deliveries and pickups
- Verify delivery details, complete necessary documentation, and maintain accurate delivery logs
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety and compliance with maintenance schedules
- Assist with warehouse activities such as inventory management, moving stock, and organizing shipments when not on route
- Follow all company policies related to driving hours, safety protocols, and load securement
Requirements
- Class C license minimum
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial driving and route driving preferred
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, especially operating box trucks or similar vehicles with manual transmission
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with loading, unloading, moving goods, or warehouse work
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and safety regulations applicable to commercial drivers
- Prior experience operating <PERSON> drivers or similar heavy-duty vehicles is desirable
- Ability to work independently while managing time efficiently on multiple routes
