Responsibilities
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Greet customers warmly, offering assistance and product information as needed
- Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and perform cash handling duties with precision
- Upsell products and promote store specials or promotions to enhance sales opportunities
- Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, ensuring merchandise is well-stocked and properly displayed
- Conduct product demos when applicable, engaging customers with knowledgeable presentations
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering or retail sales experience preferred; supervisory experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to assist bilingual customers effectively
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transactions
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or retail merchandising is advantageous
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling inquiries professionally over the phone
- Ability to perform stocking duties and assist with merchandising tasks as needed
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude
