About the Opportunity
Spiggle Law Firm is an established and growing employment law firm that has experienced significant growth in both revenue and client demand. As part of its strategic expansion, the firm is launching operations in Texas and seeking a Founding Employment Law Associate Attorney to help establish and grow its presence in the Houston market.
This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial attorney who wants to play a key role in building a new regional practice while leveraging the infrastructure, marketing expertise, operational support, and proven systems of a successful employment law firm.
Position Overview
The Founding Employment Law Associate Attorney will serve as the firm's primary Texas-based attorney and point of contact for employment law matters in the region. The attorney will work closely with the firm's leadership and managing attorney while helping establish the firm's footprint in Texas.
Initially, the position will be primarily remote, with access to office or coworking space as the firm's Texas operations continue to develop.
Responsibilities
- Conduct client consultations and case evaluations.
- Advise employees on workplace rights and employment-related legal matters.
- Manage employment law cases from intake through resolution.
- Handle matters involving:
- Discrimination claims
- Retaliation claims
- Wrongful termination
- Wage and hour disputes
- Leave and accommodation issues
- Federal and state employment law compliance
- Represent clients before administrative agencies and courts as appropriate.
- Draft pleadings, motions, demand letters, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
- Utilize the firm's established client intake, sales, and case management systems.
- Collaborate with firm leadership on the growth and development of the Texas practice.
- Help identify opportunities to expand the firm's presence and service offerings within Texas.

Qualifications
- Active Texas Bar License required.
- 2–7 years of employment law experience preferred.
- Experience handling employment matters before administrative agencies and courts.
- Familiarity with employment law issues such as:
- EEOC claims
- Workplace discrimination
- Retaliation
- Wage and hour disputes
- Leave and accommodation matters
- Strong client counseling and communication skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in helping grow a new market.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote team.
- Prior plaintiff-side employment law experience is strongly preferred.
