CDL Driver / Lot Technician
Rhode Island Truck Center is seeking a dependable, safety-focused CDL Driver / Lot Technician to join our growing team. If you enjoy working around commercial trucks, take pride in quality work, and want an opportunity to grow within a successful dealership, we'd like to hear from you.
This position is responsible for safely transporting customer vehicles, performing quality controlinspections, maintaining the dealership lot, and supporting the Service Department with daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform final quality control inspections on completed repairs before customer delivery.
- Safely transport customer vehicles to and from customer locations, vendors, and other facilities.
- Move and stage medium- and heavy-duty trucks throughout the dealership property.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional appearance of the lot and facility.
- Assist the Service Department with vehicle movement and operational support.
- Complete basic vehicle inspections and accurately report any damage or concerns.
- Operate commercial vehicles safely while complying with all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Represent Rhode Island Truck Center professionally when interacting with customers.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL (Class A or B) with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Certificate.
- Hazmat Endorsement is preferred but not required.
- Basic mechanical knowledge of medium- and heavy-duty trucks is preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous dealership, fleet, transportation, or commercial truck experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Frequently climb into and out of commercial trucks.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Safely operate commercial vehicles and equipment throughout the workday.

- Monday through Friday
- Overtime available as needed
