Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and diagnose medical conditions using veterinary terminology and clinical ethical guidelines.
- Perform surgical procedures, including general anesthesia, veterinary surgery, and specialized techniques such as animal catheterization and aseptic techniques.
- Manage emergency medicine cases with critical & intensive care skills, ensuring prompt and effective treatment.
- Administer anesthesia during surgical procedures and monitor animal physiology to ensure safety throughout procedures.
- Provide comprehensive veterinary dentistry care, including animal handling and animal restraint techniques.
- Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies to promote pet health and client satisfaction.
- Assist in laboratory diagnostics, interpret laboratory results, and apply veterinary internal medicine principles for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Support exotic animal medicine cases by applying specialized knowledge of animal anatomy, husbandry, and species-specific needs.
- Maintain detailed medical records following clinical ethical guidelines while ensuring compliance with all safety protocols in critical & intensive care settings.
- Collaborate with team members on complex cases involving oncology, cardiology, or other specialized fields within veterinary medicine.
Requirements
- Veterinary degree from an accredited institution with valid licensure or eligibility to practice veterinary medicine.
- Proven veterinary experience demonstrating proficiency in animal restraint, anesthesia administration, surgery, internal medicine, dentistry, and emergency medicine.
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and laboratory procedures relevant to companion animals and exotic species.
- Excellent animal handling skills with experience in dog handling, pet grooming, animal husbandry, and pet care practices.
- Ability to perform animal catheterization safely using aseptic techniques; experience with equine or other large animals is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and clinical ethical guidelines governing veterinary practice.
- Exceptional client communication skills to educate pet owners effectively about health issues and treatment options.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning within veterinary critical care environments.

Pay: $48,364.59 - $58,245.53 per year
