Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Part-Time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Harford County! Duties
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort.
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; document findings accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to home healthcare regulations.
- Provide specialized care for patients with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or memory care needs by implementing personalized care plans.
- Assist with catheter care, wound dressing changes, and other medical procedures following strict protocols.
- Facilitate patient transfers using appropriate methods such as Hoyer lifts or transfer belts while maintaining safety standards.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure a clean, safe environment through light housekeeping tasks like laundry and cleaning.
Requirements
- Valid CNA certification with current licensure in the state of employment.
- Proven experience working with geriatric patients or in long-term care environments; assisted living or nursing home experience highly preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation and record keeping.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) including CPR certification.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia; Alzheimer’s and hospice care experience is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform patient transfers using appropriate equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
- Understanding of home health care assistance standards and home & community care practices.
