The Auto Reconditioning Outside Sales Professional, plays a crucial role within the automotive industry. This position is focused on selling refurbishment services to automobile dealerships, with direct, personal client interactions serving as the primary method for generating revenue. Professionals in this role are responsible for traveling throughout a designated territory, meeting with clients in person to build relationships and secure business agreements.
Key Responsibilities
In addition to pursuing new business opportunities, the Outside Sales Representative is tasked with conducting product demonstrations and managing client accounts to achieve sales targets. The role encompasses both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) field sales, requiring effective communication skills and a proactive approach to sales and account management.
Core Responsibilities
- Prospecting & Networking: Identifying potential customers through cold calling, networking, and lead generation.
- Field Meetings: Traveling to client sites to conduct in-person sales pitches, presentations, and product demonstrations.
- Relationship Management: Building and maintaining long-term relationships with clients to encourage repeat business.
- Customer Service: Presenting reconditioning plans to used car managers, explaining fees, and offering cost-saving repairs that boost resale value.
- Sales Closing: Negotiating contracts and closing deals to meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales quotas.
- Market Analysis: Monitoring industry competitors and market conditions to identify new opportunities.
- Administrative Reporting: Using CRM software to track leads, schedule visits, and report sales activity.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Communication: Outstanding verbal and interpersonal skills are essential for face-to-face interactions. Strong interpersonal abilities help build rapport with dealership managers and technicians.
- Automotive Knowledge: A thorough understanding of vehicle repairs, paint, dent repair, and detailing processes is Not required.
Compensation and Work Environment
- Salary: The compensation package typically includes a base salary plus incentives, with high earning potential during peak seasons such as hail season or periods with high trade-in volumes.
- Environment: The role is fast-paced and involves both office work and frequent visits to dealer lots.
- Schedule: The position is generally full-time, Monday through Friday, and often requires 10-hour shifts to manage a high volume of work.
