What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assisting orthodontists during patient care and treatment procedures with precision and care.
- Preparing and maintaining dental instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Setting up dental materials and procedures for scheduled appointments.
- Greeting and seating patients, evaluating oral hygiene, and collecting health histories.
- Taking and developing x-rays, impressions, digital scans, and photographs.
- Preparing teeth for bonding and assisting with bonding procedures.
- Placing and removing separators, fitting bands, and assisting with appliance placement.
- Checking for loose brackets and bands at each appointment.
- Accurately documenting procedures and treatment notes.
- Providing post-treatment instructions and communication to patients.
- Following strict infection control protocols in line with OSHA, CDC, and local standards.
- Educating patients on personal oral care for appliances and elastics.
- Assisting with scheduling consultations and managing patient flow for a smooth daily operation.
What We’re Looking For:
- A compassionate professional who loves working hands-on with patients in a clinical setting.
- A detail-oriented, proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous dental or orthodontic assisting experience is preferred.
- Certification in dental assisting; COA (Certified Orthodontic Assistant) is a plus.
- X-ray certification, state licensure (if applicable), and CPR certification are advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—your warmth will help patients feel at ease.
- Tech-savvy with experience using electronic treatment cards, Microsoft Word, and patient-tracking software.
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform tasks such as bending, squatting, sitting, standing, and reaching.
