The Lead Electrical Estimator – Industrial & Infrastructure provides leadership, mentorship, and technical direction to estimating teams while preparing and reviewing job estimates and bids. This role is responsible for developing project schedules and forecasts, completing quantity takeoffs, conducting site reviews, and interacting with customers throughout the preconstruction process.
This position works closely with the Estimating Manager, Project Management team, and external partners to ensure accurate, competitive bids that align with customer needs and result in successful project awards.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental policies, procedures, and regulations
- Lead, mentor, and support the development of estimators and estimating team members
- Review bid requirements to ensure all project scopes are fully defined, documented, and accounted for
- Perform and review quantity takeoffs, cost analyses, and pricing strategies
- Partner with Procurement to secure vendor and supplier pricing
- Facilitate resolution of complex estimating and project challenges
- Work with other lead estimators to develop and promote best practices and process improvements
- Conduct site visits, pre-bid meetings, and constructability reviews
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor pricing and contract terms
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Operations teams to align estimates with execution strategy
- Interact with customers and stakeholders throughout the bid and negotiation process

- Perform other duties as assigned
- 10+ years of related estimating or construction experience
- Experience with negotiation and contract review
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in utility, industrial, or electrical construction
- Strong proficiency with estimating software (e.g., AccuBid or similar tools)

Our Construction Electrical Division specializes in heavy industrial electrical, medium-voltage systems, and mission-critical infrastructure projects across energy and industrial markets.
The Electrical Estimator – Industrial & Medium Voltage is responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings to ensure all requirements are understood and accounted for in order to successfully bid and win projects. This role works closely with subcontractors and Project Management teams to develop competitive bids, track budgets, and support successful project award and turnover.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental policies and regulations
- Review bid specifications and drawings for projects ranging approximately from $500K to $10M, ensuring full scope coverage
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for industrial electrical and medium-voltage systems
- Partner with Procurement to secure vendor and supplier pricing
- Identify, manage, and maintain relationships with subcontractors, ensuring timely and complete bid coverage
- Develop project schedules and cost forecasts to support estimating accuracy
- Track and analyze budget-to-actual comparisons throughout the bid lifecycle
- Collaborate with Project Management to follow up on bids, budgets, and award status
- Properly turn over bid documents and subcontractor buyout information to Project Managers
- Review drawings with Project Management teams and highlight risks, gaps, or constructability issues
- Maintain organized and well-documented estimate files
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field
(or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- 3–5 years of related experience in estimating, construction, or electrical infrastructure
- Experience with negotiation and subcontractor engagement
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Experience in utility, industrial, or electrical construction
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and estimating software (e.g., Accubid)
