Schedule: Thursday–Wednesday work week
Location: 830 Washington Street, Watertown, NY 13601
Specialty: Registered Nurse – Operating Room
Contract: 13 weeks
Shift: 8-hour days, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Travel Requirement: Travel RN only
Radius Rule: 100 miles
Floating: Required
Weekend/Holiday: Required
Call: Required; 30-minute response time
BLS: Required
ACLS: Preferred
Prior Travel Experience: Required
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care and patient assessments.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and aseptic OR environment.
- Operate and monitor clinical equipment and surgical instrumentation.
- Recognize changes in patient condition and interpret lethal dysrhythmias.
- Assist with safe patient positioning, transfers, and use of lifting equipment.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Prioritize, delegate, and document patient care accurately.
- Provide patient education and respond effectively to urgent clinical situations.
- Participate in weekend, holiday, floating, and on-call requirements.
- Maintain a 30-minute on-call response time when assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current New York State RN license.
- BLS required; ACLS preferred.
- Previous OR/perioperative nursing experience preferred.
- Prior travel nursing experience required.
- Strong assessment, critical-thinking, communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure environments.
- Charge, preceptor, and leadership experience preferred.
